ORDINANCE No. 38 of 1932. (PRISONS).
In exercise of the Powers conferred by section 2 of the Prisons Ordinance, 1932, His Excellency the Governor is pleased to order and it is hereby ordered that the site and buildings and prison at Stanley, known as the Hong Kong Prison, be set apart for the purpose of a prison under the above Ordinance.

ORDINANCE No. 9 of 1897. (VAGRANCY).
I, SIR ANDREW CALDECOTT, Knight, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Governor and Commander in Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice Admiral of the same, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 3 of the Vagrancy Ordinance, 1897, DO HEREBY CERTIFY the buildings at Stanley, known as the Hong Kong Prison, to be a House of Detention AND I APPOINT the Superintendent of Prisons to be the Superintendent of the said House of Detention.
