The rainfall for the month of August at Victoria Peak was 19ins. '06 on 19 days, at Mount Kellett, it was 18ins. 27 on 21 days, at Botanical Gardens, 20ins. 99 on 20 days, at Taipo, 23ins. 78 on 21 days, and at Fanling, 24ins. 27 on 16 days.
The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 28ins. ·920 at 041. 03m. on the 17th. The maximum gust velocity as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 132 miles per hour at 04h. 00m. on the 17th.
