APPOINTMENTS, &c.
No. 714.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to recognise, provi- sionally and pending instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Monsieur SOULANGE TEISSIER, as in charge of the Consulate for France at Hong Kong.

No. 715.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Dr. WILLIAM BROWNLOWE ASHE MOORE, L.R.C.P.I., L.R.C.S.I., L.M. (Rot. Dub.) D.T.M. & H. (Lond.), to act as Director of Medical and Sanitary Services, with effect from 26th September, 1934.

No. 716.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following appointments, promotions and transfer in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps :-
1. Promotions.
Major GEORGE DUNCAN RALPH BLACK, M.D., C.M.Tor., to be Lieutenant-Colonel,
with effect from 1st September, 1934.
Captain MAURICE ALFRED JOHNSON, M.M., to be Major, with effect from 1st
September, 1934.
Lieutenant EVAN GEORGE STEWART to be Captain, with effect from 1st
September, 1934.
Lieutenant LESLIE FRERE NICHOLSON to be Captain, with effect from 1st
September, 1934.
Lieutenant JOSE SIMAO RODRIGUES to be Captain, with effect from 1st
September, 1934.
2. Transfer.
Major GEORGE DUNCAN RALPH BLACK, M.D., C.M.Tor., to Reserve of Officers,
as from 1st September, 1934.
3. Appointments.
Dr. HORACE JOHN CROOT, M.B., B.S., M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P. (London), to
be Lieutenant in the Medical Section.
Mr. WILLIAM FARQUHAR MURRAY (Flying Officer, Royal Air Force Reserve), to be Temporary Local Lieutenant for duty with Volunteer Air Arm.
(Both with effect from 21st September, 1934).
