The rainfall for the month of August at the Botanical Gardens was 23ins. 80 on 19 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was 19ins. ·75 on 18 days, at Fauling, 15ins. 79 on 18 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, 20ins. 86 on 18 days.
The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. ·630 at 15h. 49m. on the 8th. The maximum gust velocity as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 57 miles per hour at 19h. 05m. on the 8th.
