71. 73.-(1) Lamp shades of readily combustible material Lamp shall not be provided.

(2) Lamp shades shall be of incombustible material except when intended for use in positions remote from combustible materials. If shades of combustible material be provided for use in such positions, they shall be rendered satisfactorily non- inflammable, shall be suitably ventilated to the satisfaction of the Licencing Authority and shall be so arranged that, in case of electric lighting fittings, it will not be possible for the shades to come into contact with the lamp or holder, and, in the case of gas fittings, the shades are efficiently protected from the flame or from any parts of the fitting liable to reach a high temperature. No shade of a large size or elaborate nature shall be provided without the previous consent of the Licensing Authority.
