ORDINANCE No. 16 of 1903. (WATERWORKS).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Waterworks Ordinance, 1903, the Governor in Council hereby rescinds the regulations set forth in Government Notification No. 275 published in the Gazette of the 13th April, 1934. and substitutes the following regulations therefor:

1. On all new accounts, issued by the Government after the 1st day of April, 1934, for excess consumption charges in respect of rated tenements, or in respect of hospitals or charitable institutions referred to in section 2 (a) (iii) of the Waterworks Ordinance, 1903, a rebate of ten per cent. shall be granted and allowed.

2. The foregoing regulation 1 shall be regarded as a temporary measure and shall be read with regulation 1 of the Water Regulations set forth on pages 307 and 308 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, as subsequently amended.

ORDINANCE No. 10 of 1899. (MERCIANT SHIPPING).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 36 (12) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, the Governor in Council further amends Table R in the Schedule to the said Ordinance as follows:

Amendment.

For the first paragraph, under the heading "Charges for the storage of gunpowder and other explosives in the Government Depôts" substitute the following paragraph.-

The minimum charge for a month or fraction of a month for any one lot or quantity on storage shall be $1. Except as above, the charge shall be 25 cents for each 50 lbs. or fraction of 50 lbs., gross weight, for a month or fraction of a month.
