The following Order of His Majesty in Council, which appears in the London Gazette of the 12th January, 1934, is published for general information.

AT THE COURT AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE,
THE 21ST DAY OF DECEMBER, 1933.
PRESENT,
THE KING'S MOST EXCELLENT MAJESTY IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Treaty, grant, usage, sufferance, and other lawful means, His Majesty The King has jurisdiction within. the dominions of the Republic of China :
Now, therefore. His Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf by the Foreign Jurisdiction Acts, 1890 and 1913, or otherwise in His Majesty vested, is pleased by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:---
1. This Order may be cited as the China (Registration Fees Amendment) Order in Council, 1933.
2.-(1) This Order shall come into force on the 1st January, 1934.
(2) No, provision of this Order amending or repealing any provision of any previous Order shall affect the past operation of such previous Order or anything done there- under.
(3) Printed copies of this Order shall forthwith be affixed and exhibited conspicuously in the public offices of all His Majesty's consular posts in China
(4) Proof shall not be required in any proceeding or matter that the provisions of the preceding paragraph of this article have been complied with, nor shall any failure to comply with the said provisions in any manner affect the operation of this Order.
3. Article 215 (6) of the China Order in Council, 1925, is hereby repealed and the following article shall be substituted therefor :-
215 (6) Every person shall, on every registration of himself, and on every renewal of the registration pay a fee of $5, or such other fee as the Secretary of State from time to time appoints. The amount of the fee may be uniform for all persons, or may vary according to the position and circumstances of different classes, if the Secretary of State from time to time so directs, but may not in any case exceed $15.
And the Right Honourable Sir John Allsebrook Simon, one of His Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, is to give the necessary directions herein.
