No. 310. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been. pleased to make the following appointment in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 1st April, 1934:

Lieutenant EDWARD MICHAEL KOECHER MEAD, The Inns of Court Regiment,

Territorial Army, to be Local Temporary Lieutenant.

No. 311.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, the Honourable Mr. JOHN JOHNSTONE PATERSON to be an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council for a further period of four years, with effect from the 17th April, 1924.

No. 312.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, provisionally, and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Mr. WILLIAM HENRY BELL to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council, in the place of the Honourable Mr. JOHN JOHNSTONE PATERSON, who is temporarily absent from the Colony, with effect from 12th April, 1934.

No. 313. With reference to Government Notification No. 219 of 10th April, 1931, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Commander HENEAGE CECIL LEGGE, D.S.C., R.N., to be a Member of the Harbour Advisory Committee, vice Lieutenant-Commander LEONARD GEORGE ADDINGTON, D.S.C., R.N., resigned, with effect from 5th April, 1934.

No. 314. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government, under instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to recognise Senhor NARBAL DA COSTA as Honorary Brazilian Consul at Hong Kong.

No. 315.-It is hereby notified that during the absence on leave of Mr. ROBERT EMMET FARRELL, Honorary Vice-Consul for Spain in Hong Kong, Mr. FELIX MAURICE ELLIS will be in charge of the Spanish Consulate.
