No. 84. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to accept the resignation by Lieutenant JOHN NORRIE-OWEN of his Commission in the Army Service Corps Cadre of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 31st January, 1934.

No. 85.-Ilis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, the Honourable Sir WILLIAM EDWARD LEONARD SHENTON, Kt., to be an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council for a further period of five years, with effect from the 3rd April, 1933.

No. 86.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. LJ Tsz- FONG, J.P., to be a Member of the Board of Education for a period of two years, with effect from 3rd February, 1934.

No. 87.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under the provisions of paragraph 1 of Statute 7 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordi- nance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, Professor GEORGE THOMAS BYRNE, M.Sc, F.I.C., to be an additional member of the Council of the University of Hong Kong for a period of one year, with effect from the 1st February, 1934.

It is hereby notified for general information that the following gentlemen have been appointed by His Excellency the Governor as the other members of the Com- mittee, the Chairman of which is the Harbour Master, to administer the Mercantile Marine Assistance Fund of Hong Kong established by the Mercantile Marine Assistance Fund Ordinance, 1933, namely,-
