ORDINANCE No. 9 of 1897. (VAGRANCY).
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 13 and 30 of the Vagrancy Ordinance, 1897, the Governor in Council approves and orders the rescission of all the matter printed on page 180 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925. under the heading "VAGRANCY. (No. 9 of 1897)" and (u) approves the following regulation,---
A vagrant in a house of detention may be employed at such work at an industrial trade, preferably the vagrant's usual trade, as, the superintendent of the house of detention where he is detained shall prescribe, or at any other work of a hard bodily nature which the Governor shall from time to time approve Provided that a vagrant shall not be so employed in company with ordinary prisoners.
(b) makes the following rule,-
A vagrant in a house of detention may be permitted to leave such house of detention during such hours or days as the superintendent thereof may specify, for any reason such superintendent may consider sufficient.

His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to direct under section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance, 1903, Ordinance No. 1 of 1903, that the name of Mr. RONALD BANNATYNE LEWIS be added to the List of Authorized Architects published in Government Notification No. 697 of the 20th October, 1933.
