The rainfall for the month of May at the Botanical Gardens was 5ins. ·22 on 15 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was 6ins. 42 on 10 days, at Fanling, 5ins. 78 on 7 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, 6ins. 62 on 10 days.

The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. 671 at 15h. 41m. on the 29th. The maximum squall velocity as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 41 miles per hour at 21h. 56. on the 2nd.
