APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 56. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under section 9 (4) of the Liquors Consolidation Ordinance, 1931, Ordinance No. 36 of 1931, Messrs. HUGH BLACKWELL LAYARD DOWBIGGIN, O.B.E., J.P., and JOHN OWEN HUGHES, J.P., to be members of the Licensing Board for a further period of three years, with effect from 10th December, 1932.

No. 57.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the Rev. Fr. GEORGE BYRNE, D.Ph., to be a Mem ber of the Board of Education for a further period o two years, with effect from 28th February, 1933.

No. 58. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. NORMAN LOCKHART SMITH to be Director of Education, with effect from 25th January, 1933.

No. 59. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under section 4 of the Education Ordinance, 1913, Ordinance No. 26 of 1913, Dr. WONG HOK-NIN to be Inspector of Schools, with effect from the 24th January, 1933.

Rules for the Chinese Permanent Cemetery at Aberdeen,

WHEREAS by two Deeds of Appropriation dated respectively the 16th day of June 1913 and the 22nd day of August 1929 certain pieces or parcels of ground situate at Aberdeen in the Colony of Hong Kong and registered in the Land Office as ABERDEEN INLAND LOT No. 78 were set apart for the purpose of a PERMANENT CEMETERY FOR CHINESE permanently resident in the said Colony;

AND WHEREAS the said Cemetery was placed under the control of the Board of Management subject to the conditions and obligations contained in the said deeds and subject also to such rules as should be made by the Board with the written approval of His Excellency the Governor and published in the Hong Kong Government Gazette;
