OTICE is hereby given that a Petition
N was on the 17th day of October 1910
presented to the Supreme Court of Hongkong Original Jurisdiction by the above named Com- pany to confirm an alteration and extensions of the said Company's objects proposed to be effected by a special resolution of the Com- pany unanimously passed at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the said Company held on the 16th September 1910 and subsequently unanimously confirmed at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the said Company held on the 3rd day of October 1910 and which resolution runs as follows:-
"That the provisions of the Memorandum
of Association of the Company with respect to the Company's objects be altered by adding the following words at the end of paragraph (e) of clause of such Memorandum, that is to say: "for such consideration as "the Company may think fit and in "particular for shares debentures or "securities of any other Company "having objects altogether or in part similar to those of this Company and by adding the following para- graphs after paragraph (h) of clause 3 of such Memorandum of Associa- tion, that is to say: "(L) To enter into partnership or into any ar- " rangement for sharing profits union "of interests co-operation joint ad- venture reciprocal concession or "otherwise with any person or Com-
pany carrying on or engaged in or "about to carry on os engage in any "business or transaction which this
Company is authorised to carry on "or engage in or any business or "transaction capable of being con- "ducted so as directly or indirectly "to benefit this Company and to lend "money to guarantee the contracts "of or otherwise assist any such

person or Company and to take or "otherwise acquire shares and seen- "rities of any such Company and to "sell holl re-issue with or without guarantee or otherwise deal with the same.
() To enter into any arrangements "with any Governments or authori- "tics Supreme Municipal local or "otherwise that may seem conducive to the Company's objects or any of "them and to obtain from any such Government or authority any rights "privileges and concessions which the Company may think it desir "able to obtain and to carry out "excrcise and comply with any such
arrangements rights privileges and "concessions.
(.) To promote any Company or Com-
panies for the purpose of acquiring "all or any of the property and lia- "bilities of this Company or for any "other purpose which may seem directly or indirectly calculate:l "to benefit this Company. “(7.) To invest and deal with the moneys
of the company not immediately "required in such manner as from "time to time may be determined, (m) To borrow or raise or secure the "payment of money in such manner "as the Company shall think fit. *(n.) To sell or dispose of the under-

taking of the Company or any part thereof for such consideration as the Company may think fit and in "particular for shares debentures or "Securitics of any other Company having objects altogether or in part similar to those of this Company,

"stock scrip or securities belonging
"to the Company among the mem. "bers in specie."
And by adding the following words after the general words at the end of such clause 3, that is to say :-
And it is hereby declared that the word "Company" in this clause shall be "deemed to include any partnership or other body of persons whether "incorporated or not incorporated
• and whether domiciled in the United Kingdom or elsewhere and the intention is that the objects "specified in each paragraph of this **clause shall, except where otherwise "expressed in such paragraph be in "no wise limited or restricted by "reference to or inference from the "terms of any other paragraph or the "name of the Company,
And that the General Managers be and they are authorised to apply to the *Court to confirm this Resolution under the provisions of the Com- *panies Ordinance 1865.”
And Notice is further given that the said Petition is directed to be heard before His Honour Sir FRANCIS PIGGOTT Chief Justice of the Colony of Hongkong on Monday the 31st day of October 1910 at 10.30 a.m. and any person interested in the said Company whe- ther as a creditor or otherwise desirous to oppose the making of an order for the con- firmation of the said alteration and extensions under the above Ordinance should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his Counsel for the purpose and a copy of the said Petition will be furnished to any such person requir- ing the same by the Company's Solicitors Messieurs DEACON. LOOKER & DEACON of No. 1 Des Voeux Road Central Hongkong on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

No. 85 Des Voeux Road West, Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong and of No. 157 Rna Nova D'El Rei in the Portuguese Colony of Macao and also of Canton, Kongmoon and Song Sui Hau in the District of San Ui in the Province of Kwong Tung in the Empire of China have on the 3rd day of August 1910 applied for the registration in Hongkong in the Register of Trade Marks of the following Trade Marks:-

(4.) The representation of a Chinese lady
and two Chinese male figures: above the sail mark are the characters ""with an ornamental border of birds and flowers, &c. (5.) The representation of two phoenixes with the sun in the centre thereof
and the characters “祥天陳

(Chan Tin Cheong) in the centre of the mark. With reference to this mark the applicants disclaim all right to the exclusive use of the ornamental border or other added matte: thereto.

in the name of the said CHAN TIN CHEONG firm who claim to be the proprietors thereof.
The Trade Marks have been used by the Applicants in respect of Joss-sticks in Class 50 (10).

The device of an oval shaped figure in the middle of which is the representation of an open Umbrella with the name KWONG MEE NUM and the words Umbrella Brand surrounding the said representation. In combination with the said device is a Tablet upon which are written the Chinese char-

The representation of a Stout Chinese Idol, in a sitting posture, wearing a gown. Above which is depicted a scroll on which, are printed, stamped, painted, impressed, branded, stencil- led, written, drawn, cut, or embossed the words Blue Joss Brand “.
