It is proposed to issue not less than four parts annually, and additional parts will be published whenever sufficient material is forthcoming. Annual subscribers will be entitled to receive such extra parts without further cost.

In order to facilitate the prompt publication of important papers, the parts will not be issued at fixed intervals, but, as occasion requires; though, as far as possible, regularity will be maintained.

The subscription for the first year will be Ten Shillings.

The separate parts will also be on sale, the prices varying with the size of the part and the number of illustrations.

Regulation made by the Officer Administering the Government- in-Council under Section 23 of The Waterworks Ordinance, 1903, (Ordinance No. 16 of 1903), this 6th day of October, 1910.

The Regulation numbered 31 (1) made by the Governor-in-Council on the 12th day of October, 1908, and published in the Gazette on the 16th day of October, 1908, and on page 511 of the Regulations of Hongkong, 1910, is hereby revoked and the following Regulation is substituted therefor :--

Cisterns and Tanks in Rider Main Districts.

31. (1.)-(7.) No receptacle, cistern or tank capable of containing more than 10 gallons shall be constructed, placed or maintained for the storage of water in any building situated in any Rider Main District without the previous sanction in writing of the Water Authority.

(b.) Every receptacle, cistern or tank of a greater capacity than 10 gallons intended to contain a supply of water for domestic purposes shall be of iron of a minimum thickness of inch or of brick in cement-mortar and of a capa- city not exceeding 100 gallons: its position shall be subject to the approval of the Water Authority and it shall be raised not less than six feet above the floor level, and shall be provided with a closely fitting iron cover. (.) Every receptacle, cistern or tank intended to contain a supply of water for trade purposes shall be constructed in such manner and position and with such materials as the Water Authority may in each case require.

(d.) Every receptacle, cistern or tank of a greater capacity than 10 gallons, whether intended for domestic or for trade purposes, shall be cleaned out and lime- washed internally to the satisfaction of the Sanitary Board not less than twice a year; such cleaning out and limewashing to be done during the months of September and March.

Every receptacle, cistern or tank not exceeding 10 gallons in capacity shall be maintained at all times in a cleanly condition to the satisfaction of the Sanitary Board.

(e.) Any person responsible for the construction, placing or maintenance of any receptacle, cistern or tank placed, constructed or maintained in contraven- tion of any of the provisions of the Waterworks Ordinance, 1903, or of any Regulation made thereunder shall remove such receptacle, cistern or tank within seven days from the receipt of a written notice from the Water Authority requiring him so to do."
