SANITARY DEPARTMENT.

No. 763.—It is hereby notified that tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary s Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 14th December, 1909, for the daily collection and removal of blood and hair from the Slaughter-house situated at Ma Tan Kok in the Kowloon Peninsula, for the period of one year, from the 1st January next.

The contractor shall at all times keep the Slaughter-house in a thorough state of clean liness, for which service he shall maintain as many coolies as may, in the opinion of the Sanitary Board, be necessary, but the number shall in no case be less than three, one of whom shall be employed as a fireman. The contractor shall also provide the necessary brooms and baskets.

No tender will be considered, unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Treasury the sum of $50, as a pledge of the bonâ fides of his offer.

The successful tenderer will be required to sigu a formal contract containing conditions to be prescribed by the Board and also to give security to the satisfaction of His Excellency the Governor in the sum of $250 failing compliance with these requirements the sum deposited by the tenderer will be forfeited.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.
