b. A coral patch having on it a least depth of 9 feet, and called Hill Rock, is situated in a position 4 miles N. 10 E. Trom the Western extreme of Usukan Island. (See note at end.)

An extensive coral bank, with depths of 6 to 10 fathoms upon it, the limits of which have not yet been fully determined, the S.E. extreme of which lies about 26 miles West of Ant Rocks in approximately Lat. 6'32 N. Long. 116-02 E.

Remarks:-

The summit of Mount Kini Balu, Victoria Peak, which is 13,450 feet high and is situated near the Southwest part of this very conspicuous high mountain chain which terminates at a distance of 34 miles N. 32 E. from this peak, lies in Lat. 6·04:52 N. Long. 116:33:14 E., determined from summit of Pulau Gaya, 950 feet high, Chart No. 3626, which is taken to be in Lat. 601-14 N. Long. 116-01-19 E. (“Rambler" 04.)

The conspicuous Mount Tanbuyukon the summit of which is 8465 feet high is situated N. 34 E. 10 miles from Victoria Peak.

Mount Lokpussok, a very prominent object and useful when navigating the Coast, 1,430 feet, high and densely wooded, is situated N. 39 E. 204 miles from the summit of Palau Gaya 950 feet high, Chart No. 3626.

Mantanani Islands :-This group, the shores of which have not yet been surveyed, is charted 2 miles too far to the South Eastward in relation to the adjacent Shore line of Province Keppel.

Note.-The passage is safe between Mayne and Mice Rocks and also inshore of both of these dangers passing Westward of the Drying Rocks situated 14 miles Northward of the western extreme of Usukan Island which may be rounded at a distance of a mile.
