TO BULLOCK HARBOUR.

NOTICE is hereby given that Captain J. WARRACK, of the S.S. Chili, reports that, while at anchor in Bullock Harbour at low water spring tides, heavy breakers, having the appear- ance of a rock almost awash, were seen in approximately the following position :-

Rocky Islet bearing S. 51° E. (magnetic), distant 1.6 miles.

No. 698.-It is hereby notified that tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 16th November, 1909, for-

The general surface scavenging of, and the collection and removal of household and trade refuse, animal manure and sewer deposits from that portion of the City of Victoria and Hill District lying East of a boundary line formed by Wing Wo Street along Wing Lok Street to Wing Shing Street along Queen's Road Central to Gough Street Steps up Gough Street Steps to Shing Wong Street along Caine Road to Park Road at the junction of Robinson Road, to the dust boat stations, for the period of three years from the 1st day of January, 1910. The boundary roads are for scavenging purposes included in the Western District. The Eastern Portion consists of Health Districts 1 to 5 marked on a map to be seen at the Sanitary Board Office.

For conditions of contract and full particulars, apply at this Office.

No tender will be considered, unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Treasury the sum of $125 as a pledge of the bona fides of his tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.
