NOTICE is hereby given that the light is not shown, for the present, from Kawarazu Lightbuoy at Shiakn-seto, Inland Sea, owing to a breakdown of its illuminating apparatus.

UNCHARTED ROCK IN CHANNEL BETWEEN LU-WANG ISLAND
AND MESAN GROUP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the uncharted rock in the channel between Lu-wang Island and the Mesan Group, on which the S.S. Maori King was wrecked on the 17th September, 1909, lies in the following position
S.E. point of Reef Island bearing N. 38° W. (magnetic), distant 8-2 cables.
The rock appears to be a short, narrow ridge lying N.E, and S.W., with a least depth over it of 6 feet at low water of spring tides.

No. 640. It is hereby notified that tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until noon of Tuesday, the 26th October, 1909, for the removal and dumping at sea of the City refuse by five junks towed by two steam-launches for the period of one year from the 1st January, 1910.
For conditions of contract and full particulars apply at the Sanitary Board Office, "Beaconsfield".
No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Treasury the sum of $200 as a pledge of the bona fides of his tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.
For form of tender apply at the Colonial Secretary's Office.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract containing conditions to be prescribed by the Board and also to give security by two sureties to the satisfaction of His Excellency the Governor in the sum of $3,000; failing compliance with these require- ments the sum deposited with the tender will be forfeited.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
