European lunatics landed from ships on Consular or ship's agents' guarantee are charged as 2nd class private patients. Asiatic lunatics are charged as 3rd class patients in accord- ance with the foregoing scale.

Lunatics sent in by Board of Trade are charged in accordance with the rates for seamen

given above.

Children under twelve years of age, half price in each class.

Patients are charged for all wines, spirits and inalt liquors consumed, with the exception of

brandy administered medicinally.

Certificates. A charge of $5 is made for all certificates in connection with fitness or unfit- ness of patients or others to perform their duty, and for invaliding certificates, and $10 for certificates required by Insurance Companies, etc.

No. 582.--It is hereby notified that sealed tenders will be received at this office until noon on Monday, the 27th September, 1909, for the letting of Crown Land opposite the Central Market, for 3 years from 1st November, 1909, subject to the conditions specified below.

Each render must bear on the cover the words "Tender for Lease of Crown Land opposite the Central Market" and must be accompanied by a receipt to the effect that the tenderer has deposited in the Colonial Treasury a sum of $500.00 as a pledge of the bona jides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if the tenderer refuses to carry out his tender and comply with the conditions hereinafter contained, should the tender be accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.

Forms of tender and further particulars can be obtained from the Director of Public Works.

Conditions relating to the letting of Crown Land opposite the Central Market for a period of 3 years from 1st November, 1909 :---

(1.) Lease area about 23,520 square feet.

(2.) Upset Crown Rent $500.00 per month.

(3.) The amount of monthly Crown Rent offered to be stated in tender.

(4.) The Crown Rent will be payable monthly in advance on the 1st day of each month.

(5.) Tenders must specify the purposes for which the land is to be used. It can be used for no other purpose than those specified except the consent of the Governor be pre- viously obtained.

(6.) No matsheds will be permitted to be erected on the ground, but sheds with boarded sides and tiled roofs may be erected.

(7.) The Lessee will be allowed to erect a temporary building for the purpose of holding public performances under Ordinance No. 18 of 1908.

(8.) The Lessee will also be allowed to erect temporary shops on the sea frontage which must not be used as domestic buildings except for watchmen; such buildings to be constructed to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Works.

(9.) All structures erected by the lessee to be cleared away before the termination of the lease and the ground to be left in a condition to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Works.

(10.) The successful tenderer shall before 1st November, 1909, execute a lease in the usual form of Crown Leases as modified by the foregoing Special Conditions.

(11.) The Lessee shall deposit a sum of $1,500.00 with the Colonial Treasurer as security for the due payment of rent and performance of conditions of lease.
