No. 520.-It is hereby notified that the following Sales of Crown Land by Public Auction will be held at the District Land Office, Tai Po,

at 10 a.m., on Saturday, the 28th day of August, 1909.

The Lots are sold for the term of Seventy-five years from the 1st day of July, 1898, with the right of renewal for a further term of 24 years less 3 days at a re-assessed Crown Rent Lot No. 742 as an Agricultural Lot and Lot No. 743 as a Building Lot subject to the General Conditions of Sale published in Government Notification No. 365 of 1906 and Lot No. 742 is subject further to the special conditions hereunder specified.

The amount to be spent in rateable improvements on Lot No. 743 under the General Condition No. 5 is $100.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS.

1. The Purchaser of the Lot shall not have or be entitled to any right of access to the sea, or to any right of access to any water which may be near to the said Lot or on which the same abuts, or to any compensation whatever in the event of any reclamation being made between any part of the said Lot and such sea or water; and a special proviso to this effect shall be inserted in the Crown Lease of the Lot.

2. The Purchaser shall not erect any building on the Lot without first obtaining a building licence which licence shall only be granted upon payment of an additional premium at the rate of of a cent for each square foot so built upon and of an increased annual Crown Rent at the rate of $99 per acre per annum.

3. The Crown Rent mentioned in the Particulars of Sale is subject to re-assessment at the end of five years from the date of sale and thereafter such rent shall be paid as shall be fairly and impartially fixed by the Surveyor to His Majesty the KING, or by such other person as shall be appointed by the Governor of Hongkong for that purpose, as the fair and reasonable rental value of the ground at the expiration of the said period of five years; and a special proviso to that effect shall be inserted in the Crown Lease of the said Lot.

4. The Purchaser shall not during the term for which the Lot is sold permit or allow the land to remain uncultivated according to the custom of the country for a continuous period of five consecutive years at any time after the date of sale: and a covenant to that effect shall be inserted in the Crown Lease of the Lot.
