(2.) The rules may provide that any person committing a breach of any of them shall be liable on summary convie. tion to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.

(3.) The railway administration shall keep at each station on any railway a copy of the General Rules for the time being in force under this section and shall allow any person to inspect it at all reasonable times.

33.-(1) The railway administration shall determine the maximum load for every wagon or truck in its possession and shall exhibit the load so determined in a conspicuous. manner on the outside of every such wagon or truck.

(2.) Every person owning a wagon or truck which passes over the railway shall similarly determine and exhibit the maximum load for the wagon or truck.

(3.) The gross weight of any such wagon or truck bearing upon the axles when the wagon or truck is loaded to such maximum load shall not exceel such limit as may be approved by the railway administration for the class of axle under the wagon or truck,

The railway administration shall fix subject to the approval of the Governor-in-Council the maximum number of passengers which may be carried in each compartment of every description of carriage and shall exhibit in English and in Chinese the number so fixed in a conspicuous mauner inside or outside each compartment.

35.-(1.) The Manager may ou sufficient Cause him appearing and subject to the provisious hereinafter contained summarily dismiss any railway official who is not on the permancut establishment of the Colony and who is not under written agreement or may suspend any such official from the performance of his duties provided that every railway official so dismissed or suspended shall have the right of appeal to the Governor and should such suspension or dismissal be confirmed by the Governor the official if suspended shall be thereupon dismissed from the service of the railway or if already dismissed by the said Manager shall be deemed to be finally dismissed without further appeal.

(2.) The Manager may from time to time make such bye- laws as he shall think it for the purpose of regulating the conduct of the officers and servants cployed on the railway, A copy thereof shall be given to every officer and servant affected thereby.

(3.) The Manager may by such bye-laws impose such reasonable penalties upon all persons being officers or servants employed on the railway offending against such bye-laws as he may think fit not exceeding in any one mouth seven days' pay of any such officer or servant. Any officer or servant employed on the railway who may feel aggrieved by any such penalty as aforesaid may appeal to the Governor whose decision shall be final.

(4.) The imposition of penalties under sub-section (3) here- of upon any officer or servant employed on the railway shall (subject to the appeal herciubefore provided for) be wholly within the discretion of the Manager and should it appear to the Manager that the offence or misconduct in respect of which any such penalty shall have been incurred would be better dealt with by a criminal proscention such prosecution may be instituted in lieu of the imposition of any such penalty.

(5.) The provisions of this section shall not apply to any cable to railway official who is in receipt of a salary of one hundred
