NOTICE is hereby given that the following lighthouse has been established at the south end of Ya-shima, Iyo-nada, and the light will be shown on and after July 1st, 1909.
Name:-Ya-shima Lighthouse.
Position-Lat. 33° 42′ 42′′ N., and Long. 132° 7′ 45′′ E.
(according to the Japanese Admiralty chart No. 140)
Construction and painting :-Circular concrete tower painted white. Height of light-16 feet above the base, and 180 feet above the water.
Character of light :-Light of fifth order, flashing alternately red and white, every
15 seconds.
Illuminated are:-From S. 75° 13' W., through W. N. E., to S. 60° 25' E. (the
magnetic bearings taken from the sea).
Candle power:-2580.
Visible distance :-19 nautical miles in clear weather.

HAYATOMO-SETO TIDAL OBSERVATION LIGHTBUOY DRIFTED. NOTICE is hereby given that Hayatomo-seto Tidal Observation Lightbuoy on the north side of Hayatomo-seto, Shimonoseki Strait, has drifted about 3 cables eastward.

STORM REPEATING SIGNAL STATIONS DISCONTINUED.
NOTICE is hereby given that the system of Storm Repeating Signals from Light-stations inaugurated in 1907 not having proved a success, it has been decided, in consultation with Sicawei Observatory, to discontinue it.
The local Storm-warning Stations at Ningpo, Chinhai, Wenchow, and Sharp Peak, which use the Storm Repeating Code, will be continued for the benefit of native shipping.
