A BILL
ENTITLED
An Ordinance to amend The Stonecutters' Island
Ordinance, 1889.
Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as The Stonecutters' Island Amendment Ordinance 1909 and shall be read and construed as one with The Stonecutters Island Ordinance 1889 (hereinafter called the Principal Ordinance).
2. Section 3 (1) of the Principal Ordinance shall be read and construed as if the words "by the Colonial Secretary or did not appear therein.
3. No vessel shall anchor or make fast within one to anchor or hundred yards from the shore at low water mark of Stone- cutters Island unless with the written permission of the officer in command of His Majesty's Regular Troops in the Colony, except such vessel be employed on Naval, Mili- tary, or Police duty, or except such vessel be compelled by stress of weather to anchor or make fast within such distance.

4. The owner, master, or other person in charge of any vessel which anchors or makes fast contrary to the pro- visions of section 3 of this Ordinance shall on conviction thereof in a summary way be liable to a penalty not excced- ing twenty dollars or to imprisonment with or without hard labour for any term not exceeding one mouth,
5. For the purposes of this Ordinance “vessel ” includes junk, sampan, boat, and every other description of vessel used in navigation.
Objects and Reasons.
The purpose of the Amending Ordinance is to prescribe a limited distance from the shore of Stonecutters Island within which vessels may ordinarily anchor or make fast.
Opportunity is taken to delete from the Principal Or- dinauce certain words the retention of which in the Ordinance has become unnecessary.

Registers) Ordinance, 1907.
BE it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows --
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Companies (Local Registers) Amendment Ordinance, 1909.
2. Sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Companies (Local Registers) Ordinance, 1907, is hereby repealed and the following is substituted in place thereof : —
