(a) by the substitution of the words "Head of the Sanitary Department" for the words Secretary of the Sanitary Board" in the first line of sub-section (1);
(b) by the deletion of the words "unless acting under the written sanction or direction of the Sanitary Board" in the first and second lines of sub-section (2).
(4.) Sub-section (2) of section 14 is amended by the deletion of the words "or a paper con- taining the written sanction or direction to bury of the Secretary of the Sanitary Board" in the fourth and fifth lines.
(5.) Section 26 is repealed,
Objects and Reasons.
The purpose of this measure is to transfer from the departments of the Governor, the Colonial Secretary and the Registrar General certain duties in connection with licensing and registration which are more appropriately performed by the Police and Sanitary Departments.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:
