Application for Registration of Trade Marks,

OTICE is hereby given tist Mr. WONG SAU MING of Kobe, Japan Match Manufacturer has on the 2nd day of March 1909 applied for the registration in Hot kong in the Register of Trade Marks of the follow- ing Trade Marks:-

1. The representation of two Chinese standing opposite each other, each holding the end of a ripe, between them is a small table round the edge of which are Chinese elveters, meaning long life, riches and honour, and on top a bowl of flowers. 2. Two girls in Japanese dress.

then is a large fan outspread on which are flowers.

3. Three Chinese characters

meaning

"Prosperity written in a peculiar manner. On each side are the words The Li Hing Foreign Firm" in Chinese.

4. A rifle with a fixed byonet in an up- right position to which is tied a flag. Across is a sword. A large Chinese coin is slung from the muzzle of the rifle by a thread.

Above are the words "Safety Matches" and below Li Yik of China Peacock Brand of Matches" in Chinese.

6. Two Chinese characters meaning Good Luck written in a peculiar manner. Above are the words "Best Quality Good Luck Matches", in Chinese and below The Li Hing Firm of China in Chinese. At the sides the words Brethren please patronize" and "Please recognize the Trade Mark are written in Chinese. 7. A winged dog called by the Chinese a Sea dog, with a fish in its mouth. the background is the Rising Sun. S. Two Chinese actors one holding a fan the other pointing with one hand. 11. A Japanese girl carrying two wooden buckets full of flowers shung on a bamboo. Above are the words

in the name of WONG SAU MING who claims to be the sole proprietor thereof,

Trade Marks Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, have been used by the Applicants in respect of Matches, in Class 47.

Trade Mark No. 4 is intended to be used by the Applicant forthwith in respect of the same goods in the same class.

Fat Pat Chai Lung Wa with extra labour manufactures vermilion mix- able with lacquer for the wholesale trade" both of which marks are used together and form one trade mark.

3. Finteen Chinese characters in three columns the translation of which in the English language is as follows:-
