EXHIBITION OF LIGHT AT COTTA POINT DEFERRED.

The following is published for information with reference to this office Preliminary Notice to Mariners No. 29 of 1908 :

Board of Trade Notice to Mariners for "Foreign-going ships," dated Whitehall Gardens, London, the 1st January 1909, page 125 :-

"Cotta (Kadalur) Point.-The establishment about 1st April 1909, of a flashing white light every five seconds, elevation 180 feet, range 20 miles, to be exhibited from a masonry lighthouse, 114 feet high, in 11° 28′ N., 75° 373′ E., on summit of sinall hill, 4 cables N. 26° E., from house on the southern extremity of the point, has been postponed, as it will not be ready for exhibition on that date."

WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

WEST COAST.

NOTICE is hereby given that a 3rd Order Dioptric Fixed Light is in course of erection on Cape Inscription (Dirk Hartog Island) in Lat. 25.29.30 South, Long. 112.58 East.

The light will be white occulting, and will be displayed from a cement concrete Tower of a natural grey colour, the height of the focal plane above high water being 123 feet.

The periods of occultation of the light, etc., will be given in future notice.
