KOWLOON-CANTON RAILWAY,
No. 46.--It is hereby notified that tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Wednesday, the 27th instant, for the supply of miscellaneous stores for construction of the Kowloon-Canton Railway, British Section, for one year from 1st January.
Any of the articles mentioned when required, are to be supplied free of charge at the Railway Store at Tai Kok Tsui.
No tender will be received unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if such person refuses to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.
For further information apply at the Office of the Chief Storekeeper of the Railway at Tai Kok Tsui, at which place samples of the goods to be tendered for can be inspected and forms of tender obtained.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract in the usual form of Governinent Contracts and to give security for the sum of $1,000 in a bond with two sureties conditional for the due and faithful performance of the terms of such contract.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
No. 47. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders are invited for the supply of the best Japanese Akaike Lump Coal for Six months commencing 1st January, 1909. The approximate quantity being about six hundred tons per month.
Tenders are to reach the Colonial Secretary's Office on or before Wednesday, the 27th January.
All particulars and a form of tender can be obtained from the Office of the Chief Resi- dent Engineer, Hunghom Bay, Kowloon.
The successful tenderer will be required to deposit a sum of $2,000 as security for the faithful performance of the Contract.
The Chief Resident Engineer does not bind himself to accept the lowest or any tender.
