(2) No person shall, without lawful authority or excuse make, copy or sell any badge or document which s80 closely resembles any badge or identification denment usually issued to a member of the Reserve as to lead to the belief that it is such badge or identification docu-

ment.

(3) Every person who contravenes any of the provisions of this section shall upon summary conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars and to imprisonment for any term not exceeding six months.

27. The Hong Kong Police Reserve Ordinance. 1914 is repealed.

Objects and Reasons.

1. The bill proposes to repeal and re-enact with varia- tions the Hong Kong Police Reserve Orlinmuce, 1914. The principal variatious introduced by the bili are :-

(a) The oath of allegiance is dispensed with as the

Reserve is purely a civil force.

(b) All penalties for breach of discipline, other than reprimand and dismissal, are abolished exccpt while the Reserve is called out for active service.

(c) Power is given to the Governor in Council to direct that members of the Reserve shall be paid when the Reserve is called out for service.

2. A table of correspondence between the bill and the Police Reserve Ordinance, 1914, is appended.

3. A copy of the proposed regalations is published at the same time as this bill.
