The rainfall for the month of August at the Botanical Gardens was 23ins. 37 on 19 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was 13ins. 11 on 19 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, it was Sins. 66 on 9 days.
The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. 066 at 14h. on the 20th. The maximum squall velocity, as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 116 miles per hour at 15h. 23m. on the 20th.
