15. Regulation 70 is amended by the addition at the end thereof of the words "The person acquiring such vehicle shall pay the prescribed transfer fee ".

16. The following regulation is inserted next after regulation 78:---

78A. No person shall solicit passengers to travel in a public vehicle.

17. The following regulations are inserted next after regulation 90x :-

908. Except with the permission in writing of the Captain Superintendent of Police no person other than the driver, driver's assistant and persons actually employed by the licensee or hirer shall travel on a commercial motor vehicle. 90c. All commercial motor vehicles and motor omnibuses shall be fitted with a

driving mirror to the satisfaction of the Captain Superintendent of Police.

18. The following regulations are inserted next after regulation 94:---

94A. No motor vehicle shall be fitted with any cut-out, fitting or other apparatus or device which will allow the exhaust gases from the engine of the motor vehicle to escape into the atmosphere without first passing through a silencer, expansion chamber or other contrivance suitable and sufficient for reducing as far as may reasonably be practicable the noise which would otherwise be caused by the escape of the said gases.

94B. On and from the 1st day of July, 1927, no premises shall be used as a garage unless permission in that behalf has first been obtained from the Captain Superintendent of Police.

19. Regulation No. 106 is amended by the addition after the words "ten feet in length" of the comma and words ", nor shall a truck be driven which with the load, if any, exceeds 1 ton in weight".

20. The following heading and regulations are inserted next after regulation 127:-

MOTOR OMNIBUS PROPRIETORS.

128. A proprietor of a motor omnibus shall not-

(1) allow his vehicle to ply for hire on any road or route other than a road or route approved for the purpose by the Captain Superintendent of Police.

(2) allow his vehicle to be used for any private party or parties unless he has first obtained the permission in writing of the Captain Superintendent of Police.

(3) exceed or depart from the terms or stipulations of any permit issued to

him by the Captain Superintendent of Police.

129. A proprietor of a motor omnibus shall ensure—

(1) that his vehicle bearing a certain route number or sign shall ply on such

route and complete its journey.

(2) that his vehicle runs to scheduled time as approved by the Captain Super-

intendent of Police.

(3) that a board with the words "Bus full" painted thereon, approved by the Captain Superintendent of Police, is exhibited on his vehicle in such manner as to be easily visible to intending passengers, both by day and night, whenever passengers to the number which such vehicle is licensed to carry are travelling thereon.

21. Schedule A is amended-

(1) by the deletion of "7. Chater Road, centre of the road, between Jackson Road

and Murray Road" and the substitution therefor of:
