Regulations made by the Governor in Council under section 3 of the Vehicles and Traffic Regulation Ordinance, 1912, Ordinance No. 40 of 1912, on the 2nd day of June,

1927.

The regulations made by the Governor in Council under the Vehicles and Traffic Regulation Ordinance, 1912, and set forth on pages 617-655 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, amended as appears in Government Notification No. 368 of 1926, are hereby further amended as follows:

1. Part I is amended by the insertion of the following interpretation paragraphs as the third, tenth and twelfth paragraphs respectively:-

"Conductor" includes a person other than a driver whose duty it is to attend upon passengers in a motor omnibus.

(

Passenger" includes every person carried in a motor omnibus other than one driver and one conductor and any ticket inspector.

(i)1 "Proprietor of a motor omnibus" includes the licensee of a motor omnibus and every person who is a partner therein or co-owner thereof, or is con- cerned therein, with lawful or assumed powers of management, otherwise than as a shareholder merely, or as a mortgagee who has not taken poss- ession, or as an employed driver or conductor.

2. Regulation 3 is re-numbered as paragraph (1) of regulation 3, and the following paragraph is added at the end thereof :--

(2) A conductor's licence is required annually in respect of the vehicles enumer-

ated in the following table:--

3. The following regulation is inserted next after amended regulation 3:-

3A. A fee of $2 is required on every occasion of transfer of a licensed private

vehicle other than a truck.

4. The following regulation is inserted next after regulation 27 :-

27A. A driver shall when practicable give the recognised signals when about to stop or turn his vehicle. A driver when stopping his vehicle for the purpose of taking up or setting down a passenger or load shall stop as near as possible to the left or near side of the road. A driver shall stop his vehicle when called upon or signalled so to do by a police officer in uniform.

5. The heading "Drivers of public vehicles" above regulation 32, and repetitions thereof followed by the abbreviated word 'contd.", are deleted and the heading

is substituted therefor in each case. Drivers and conductors of public vehicles'

6. Paragraph 7 of regulation 33 is rescinded and the following paragraph is substi- tuted therefor :--

(7) When his vehicle is plying as a motor omnibus--

(a) display a signboard on the front of his vehicle showing the route and destination, or display like signboards at the sides or rear of such vehicle, as required by the Captain Superintendent of Police; (b) duly drive his vehicle by the appointed route and to the appointed

destination;
