NOTICES TO MARINERS.

Shipping is hereby cautioned that for a period of about two months divers will be employed at Kennedy Town in connection with the erection of an automatic self-recording tide gauge. Vessels using the Sulphur Channel are therefore requested to proceed at slow speed.

Shipping is hereby warned that Gun Practice will be carried out from Stonecutters Island on September 22nd, 27th and 30th, October 4th and 7th over an area S. 42o W. to N. 78° W. from the western extremity of Stonecutters Island.

2. Lyemun area.-On September 23rd and 28th, October 1st, 5th, 8th and 12th in the area contained between the line joining Pakshawan to Haiti on the north and Lao- shuipai to Slope Island on the south.

Shipping is warned to proceed with caution when nearing this area.

DAIREN HARBOUR.

Light-Beacon Re-established.

Notice is hereby given that the Japanese Harbour Authorities at Dairen, in a Noti- fication dated 28th August, 1926, have issued the following information :-

The Oil Pier Light on the northern extremity of the Jijiko Oil Pier, which has been discontinued since July, 1924, on account of the Oil Pier being damaged, has been re- erected and will be lighted from the 1st September, 1926, under the administration of the South Manchuria Railway Company.

Name of light-Light-pole of Jijiko Oil Pier (Unwatched).

Location- On the northern extremity of Jijiko Oil Pier, bearing S. 34° 30′ E., distant 2,600 metres from the Southern Light of the east entrance to the Dairen Harbour.

Position - Latitude 38° 55′ 19′′ N. (approximate); longitude 121° 40′ 53′′ E.
