LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No. 247.

Bar Light Boat Withdrawal.

Notice is hereby given that on or about the 15th June, 1926, the Bar Light Boat moored on the South line of the Taku Bar Channel will be temporarily withdrawn from her station and replaced by a native junk.

The junk will exhibit the usual day mark and night light, but the Tide Signals will not be shown.

The Astronomical positions are approximate unless seconds are given. The bearings are True and in degrees from 000° (North) to 359° measured clockwise, and those relating to lights are from seaward, The visibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog signals are sounded only in thick or foggy weather. The elevation given is the height of focal plane above mean H.W. springs.

TASMANIA

Eddystone Point Light Power to be increased. Cape Sorell Light .

Mariners and others are hereby notified that the power of the Alternating Flashing White and Red Light on Cape Sorell, and that of the Group Flashing White Light on Eddystone Point will be increased on or about 31st August, 1926.

(a) Eddystone Point Light-

Position Near the extreme. Lat. 41° 00′ S. Long. 148° 21′ E., on Chart

No. 1079.

Power--174,000 candles.

(b) Cape Sorell light-

Position On point. Lat. 42° 11' S. Long. 145° 10' E. On Chart No.

1629.

Power-White 208,000 candles. Red 83,000 candles.

Note-In other respects the lights will remain unaltered. No further notice

will be given.
