No. S. 105.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the supply of Coal to the Hongkong Government", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Saturday, the 8th day of May, 1926, for the supply of coal to Government up to 31st December, 1927.

The quality of the Coal will vary according to requirements and a price per ton should be submitted for each of the following grades:-

Ohonoura Lump

Muke Lump

Muke Washed Nuts all S0% Lump. Hongay Lump

Kilan Lump

Akaiki Kirigomi-60% Lump Muke Dust

Hongay Run of Mine Welsh Coal.

The successful tenderer will be advised from time to time as to the quantities of the various grades required to be stocked.

The use of the Government Storage Ground at Blackhead's Point will be granted without charge, and the successful tenderer will be entirely responsible for the safe custody of the Coal. An undertaking to maintain a stock of not less than 4,000 tons will be required.

The first stock of Coal must be available on 1st June, 1926, when the present con- tract for supply of Government coal expires.

Delivery of the Coal will be taken as required by the Government Coal Carriage Contractor on the authority of a signed order from the Colonial Treasurer. Payment will be made at the beginning of each month for the quantities delivered during the preceding month.

No tender will be received unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $500 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person refuses to carry out his tender, if accepted.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract and to give security in the sum of $5,000 in cash to be deposited with the Colonial Treasurer for the due and faithful performance of the terms of such contract.

Form of tender and further particulars may be obtained on application to the Harbour Master, Harbour Office.
