The Council met pursuant to adjournment.

MINUTES. The Minutes of the last Meeting held on the 12th August, 1926, were confirmed.

PAPERS. The Colonial Secretary laid on the table the following papers :--

Rescission of the Order made by the Governor in Council under the Merchant

Shipping Ordinance, 1899, on 9th August, 1926.

General rules made by the administration of the Kowloon-Canton Railway, under section 32 (1) of the Railways Ordinance, 1909, on 13th August, 1926.

Resolutions passed by the Legislative Council under the provisions of section

38 of the Liquors Consolidation Ordinance, 1911, on 12th August, 1926. Rescission of two Orders made by the Governor in Council under the Merchant

Shipping Ordinance, 1899, on 20th August, 1926.

Report of the Bathing Beaches Committee.

Report of the Secretary for Chinese Affairs for the year 1925.

Report of the Director of Education for the year 1925.

Report on the Botanical and Forestry Department for the year 1925.

REPORT OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE.-The Colonial Secretary laid on the table the Report of the Finance Committee (No. 6), dated 12th August, 1926, and moved its adoption.

The Colonial Treasurer seconded.
