DUPLICATES
The payee should apply for a duplicate order to the Chief Office of the country of payment.
STOPPAGE OF PAYMENT
The remitter of a money order payable abroad should apply for stoppage of payment to the Chief Postal Accountant, G.P.O., Hong Kong, enclosing with his application a fee of 40 cents.
A form for this purpose may be obtained at any money order office.
If the sender wishes to stop payment by telegraph he is also required to pay the cost of a telegram to the country of payment,
TRANSTER OF PAYMENT
To transfer payment to another office an application, preferably on the form provided for the purpose, obtainable at any money order office, and accompanied by the order or the certificate of issue, should be sent to the Chief Postal Accountant, G.P.O., Hong Kong,
REPAYMENT
The amount of a money order may be refunded to the purchaser at his request. An application or repayment, accompanied by the order or the certificate of issue, should be made, preferably on the form provided for the purpose, obtainable at any money order office, and sent to the Chief Postal Accountant, G.P.O., Hong Kong, who will recall the amount from the overseas post office.
ORDERS ISSUED ABROAD
MAXIMUM
The maximum amount of an order issued abroad for payment in Hong Kong is HK$640 (£40).
METHOD OF TRANSMISSION
Ordinary money order remittances from abroad, are arranged by means of pattern orders prepared in the office of the Chief Postal Accountant, G.P.O., Hong Kong.
PAYMENT
At post offices. Before an order can be paid, the payee as named by the remitter must sign it, and produce some means of identification.
Payment cannot be made unless these conditions are fulfilled.
Through a bank. A crossed order may be paid only through a bank. If the name of a bank is added, payment will be made only through that bank.
PERIOD OF VALIDITY
A money order issued abroad should be presented for payment during the period of validity stated upon the order. Orders presented after the expiry of the period of validity will be paid only after special authority has been obtained by the office at which it is presented.
DUPLICATES
The payee should apply for a duplicate order to the Chief Postal Accountant, G.P.O., Hong Kong, enclosing with his application a fee of 80 cents.
A form for this purpose may be obtained at any money order office.
