No parcels other than gift parcels and parcels containing printed matter only, may be sent to private persons.

Printed Matter: Books, periodicals etc.-must be sent in parcels containing printed matter only, and not included in parcels containing other items.

Gift parcels : Gift parcels may be sent only by private persons and not by commercial undertakings. Gift parcels destined for the personal use of the addressee or members of his family living with him are admitted without an import licence providing they contain articles needed for private use. Reduced customs charges will be levied on the first three parcels received by the addressee in any one year providing the parcels contain certain items only (mostly food, tobacco and clothing) within certain limits of quantity, weight and value.

Worn clothing, linen and footwear and used articles required for personal use are admitted free of customs duty, but not more than three parcels containing such items may be sent to the same addressee in one year. A certificate of disinfection issued by a competent authority such as a Medical Officer or Health, a Sanitary Inspector, a private business house or a firm of dry cleaners must
