Packing and marking: Waterproof covers should be used for parcels for places not on the railway, especially during October to May inclusive. Parcels for Southern Rhodesia containing articles made wholly or partly of celluloid must bear a label clearly marked Celluloid.

Wharfage dues payable by the addressees of the parcels may be levied in South Africa on parcels forwarded via Capetown.

Preferential Tariffs apply under certain conditions to British goods. Enquiries should be addressed to Department of Commerce and Industry.

Compensation is not payable.

Delivery: Addressees are notified of arrival of parcels and are required to arrange for their collection.

Restrictions: Under Roumanian regulations, no goods may be sent by letter, small packet or sample post except to Roumanian State Enterprises: but packets containing printed matter only may be sent to private persons.

Restrictions ; Under Roumanian regulations, no parcels other than gift parcels and parcels containing printed matter only (Books, periodicals etc.) may be sent to private persons. No parcels other than those containing printed matter may be sent by commercial firms except to Roumanian State Enterprises. Customs duties will not be raised on parcels containing scientific or therapeutic products sent by commercial firms to institutions, scientific organizations, clinics, hospitals etc. Gift parcels : Under Roumanian regulations, gift parcels may be sent to private persons without import licences, providing the contents are for the personal use of the addressee or members of his family; customs duties are payable. The parcels may contain only certain articles in specified quantities, and the total weight of all parcels received by one person during one year must not exceed 25 kgs. Parcels sent in excess of this annual weight limit require import licences and are subject to higher customs duties. Medicine may be sent providing a permit issued by the Roumanian Health Authorities has been obtained by the addressee, but may not be included in parcels containing other items. No goods other than medicines may be sent in hermatically sealed tins. Worn clothing must be accompanied by a certificate of disinfection; fresh fruit and vegetables must be accompanied by a certificate of plant health. Customs declarations must specify in detail the number, weight and value of each article which must be separately listed. In addition, a detailed list of the contents must be enclosed with the parcel.

Parcels which do not comply with Roumanian regulations are liable to be returned to the senders at their expense.

Packing: Parcels should be very strongly packed.
