Foodstuffs: Particulars in detail of each commodity must be shown on the customs declaration.

Import licence : An import licence to be furnished by the addressee in Israel is required for many classes of goods but not for gift parcels (see below), parcels containing immigrants' personal and household goods and tools for their own professional use, and parcels containing the personal goods of travellers which are free from customs duties.

Gift parcels: Goods other than foodstuffs. A family may not receive for its personal use more than one consignment of goods other than foodstuffs during a period of 3 months, and no consignment may exceed £40 (Israel) in value. Invoice: A copy of the relative invoice should be attached to the despatch note and customs declaration of every commercial parcel. If more than one ordinary parcel from the same sender for the same addressee is posted at the same time, only one invoice is required in respect of each batch. In the case of parcels addressed c/o a bank, the actual consignee is regarded as the addressee. Customs declarations which accompany a batch of parcels must show, in addition to the usual particulars, the total number of parcels, the serial numbers and the total value of the contents.

Compensation is not payable for damage to parcels containing liquids or semi-liquids.
