If articles other than letters and postcards are posted in a private posting box, the arrangements for the clearance of the box may be discontinued.

The arrangements for the clearance of private post- ing boxes and the times of clearance shall be deter- mined by the Postmaster General. All keys of private posting boxes shall be held by the Post Office.

Fees for the clearance of private posting boxes shall be such as may be fixed by Regulation made by the Governor-in-Council under the Post Office Ordin-

ance.

Persons renting private letter boxes at the General Post Office, Hong Kong, or the Central Post Office, Kowloon, may send their letters to these offices to be posted, in sealed boxes for which a receipt will be given in the accompanying chit-book. Such receipts are "for one sealed box" and not for so many letters. The boxes must be sealed with a recognised device. No notice can be paid to such remarks as "to be registered" written in the book.

Postmen are not allowed to accept from the public anything for the post.

Postal packets sent in considerable numbers should be handed over the counter at the General Post Office, Hong Kong, or Central Post Office, Kowloon, and should not be posted in pillar or wall boxes.
