International Statistics
83. Annual statistics covering telecommunication services and facili- ties in Hong Kong were forwarded to Geneva for inclusion in inter- national publications.
Interference
84. Interference affecting Government and privately owned telecom- munication services for internal and external communication was inves- tigated and remedial action taken wherever possible. Twenty-two cases caused by electronic industrial machines causing disruption to V.H.F. circuits were investigated and cleared. A total of 115 visits was paid to work premises, resulting in 223 machines being referred to their owners for adjustment or repair during these interference and other routine investigations. 163 unlicensed machines were found distributed through 46 of the factories visited. 55 cases of severe interference, attributable to a variety of other causes, warranted intensive investigation. Three cases of domestic receiver interference were also investigated.
Frequency Monitoring and Testing
85. The operating frequencies of transmitters of 97 commercial com- panies issued with Mobile Radio Station licences were checked. These measurements involved a total of 34 fixed, 225 land and sea mobile, and 42 portable equipment.
