STAFF WELFARE
120. The Post Office Recreation Club continued to offer welfare, sporting and social activities to members during the year.
121. Regular X-Ray examinations, inoculations, etc. of the staff were carried out during the year with the co-operation of the Director of Medical and Health Service.
Social Activities
122. Social-cum-dance evenings were organized during the year. The Childrens' party, an annual event, was held on 2nd January, 1961, at the Post Office Recreation Club, with more than 500 children attending. In addition to being entertained by local guest artists, each child received a gift. A merry-go-round provided a good deal of fun and the party was rounded off with a 'lucky draw' which brought prizes to many a young winner.
123. A troop of Boy Scouts was kind enough to assist in the organization and control of the party.
Tennis
124. The Post Office Tennis teams continued to make their mark in the local league and to encourage this sport considerable improve- ment was made to the courts and various tournaments organized.
Table Tennis
125. Table tennis continued to be a popular indoor sport and during the year the 'Saville Cup' competition was held as usual. A total of eight teams participated and the cup was won by the Hong Kong Sorting Office who defeated the Headquarters team in the final.
