b) The Company has undertaken foreign exchange contracts of approximately HK$19.8 million (1984 - HK$4.7 million) which had not yet matured as at 31st December 1985.
21. Contingent Liabilities

The Company has issued a counter indemnity to the extent of $24,122,000 (1984 $32,325,000) in respect of the obligation of a subsidiary covering credit facilities made available to an associate.
The Company has given a guarantee to a banker to the extent of $2,000,000 (1984 - Nil) to secure banking facilities to an associate.
