21. Contingent Liabilities
The parent company has issued a counter indemnity to the extent of £1,356,000 in respect of obligations of a subsidiary company covering credit facilities made available to an affiliated company.
22. Subsequent Event
The ferry franchise granted to the Company by the Hong Kong Government had been extended to the 30th June, 1983. Negotiations on the terms for a new franchise are presently being discussed by the Company with Government.

Certain comparative figures in these accounts have been re-classified to conform to the current year's presentation.
