GUANGDONG STRATEGY GROUP MEETING, 2 APRIL

I enclose for discussion at the Strategy Group Meeting a paper in the form of a draft minute to the Secretary of State for Industry reporting on the recent visit to the UK by the delegation from the Guangdong Power Company and the China Light and Power Company, and setting out the next steps on the project.
2. The discussion from 9.30am to 10.30am will be for officials only; the outside interests will join the meeting at 10.30ạm.
3. I am conscious that you are committed to another meeting on the same day and will need to leave at 10.30 or thereabouts. Accordingly I have proposed that the draft letter to the State Department should be discussed as part of the next steps on the project in the early part of the meeting.
