Invisible trade

2.12

There was an

increase of 7% in the number of

incoming tourists in the first quarter of 1982 compared with the corresponding quarter of 1981. The corresponding increase

in the number of Hong Kong residents touring abroad (including

Macau and China) was 6%. The small difference probably meant

that there was little change in the net surplus on expenditure

on travel. Information on which to make an assessment of

imports and exports of other services in the first quarter is not available (3).

(3) Surveys on import and export of services are now conducted annually.
