Within the tertiary services
sectors, employment in
the finance, insurance, real estate and business services
sector continued to achieve the highest growth rate. During the first quarter of this year, it increased by 2%, making a
total of 18% for the twelve months ending March 1982.
Employment in restaurants and hotels and in the wholesale and
retail (including import and export) trades grew by 10% and 5%
respectively during the same twelve months, while employment in the civil service increased by 12%.
