The Hong Kong Immigration Department (HKID) issues visas for the UK. Mr Parkinson Assistant (Policy) MVD
While there will visit Hong Kong on 11 and 12 February. he wishes to discuss with HKID the transfer of their vasa records to the British Consulate-General when it opens
in 1996.
I should be grateful if you would confirm that there would be no legal impediment to such a transfer.

3. Mr Parkinson leaves the UK on 31 January for the Indian Sub-Continent. I apologise for the short-notice but would be grateful for a reply by close of play 25 January.
