Fire protection

All general office areas in 19 GO are protected with sprinkler systems. However, in view of the importance/value of microfilm records and computer hardware which are susceptible to damages cause by water as well as by fire, the following areas are instead protected by smoke detectors and gaseous (either BTM or BCF) fire extinguishing systems :-

Additional provision of a total of 17 numbers of portable BCF fire extinguishers was also supported by FSD for 3/F, 9/F; 16/F, 18/F and 19/F where numerous computer equip- ment are installed.

Security
The security measures required by the headquarters due to being accommodated in a joint-user building and combination of public-oriented services have been accorded full attention since the early stages of the project. Please see Chapter 12 - Security Re- quirements for details.

Apart from the above mentioned special/structural requirements, some of the major re- quirements, in particular for computer installation were also incorporated. They are:-
