FUTURE CONSULATE GENERAL IN HONG KONG: SPECIAL CONDITION 13
1. Derek Savage from OED telephoned with reference to Mrs Barnes Jones' minute of 13 May to Miss Brooks on the inclusion of the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) in the Consulate General.
2.
Mr Savage, who will not be able to attend the Steering Committee Working Group on Friday, wished to make the point that it was the view of both OED and RMD that the BCC should be
a
charged en commercial rent for the space they occupied in the Consulate. Both departments were not in favour of offering any concessionary terms to the BCC (i.e. such as being asked only to contribute to the running and staffing costs of the Consulate General).
